EPL SUPER SUNDAY FIXTURES - 1st September 2013



Liverpool vs Manchester United

Kick off Time : 1.30pm

Venue : Anfield

Referee : Andre Mariner

Manchester United travel to Anfield for this Super Sunday's opening fixture. The Red Devils will be looking to get back to winning ways after their barren draw against Chelsea last monday night.
Liverpool on the other hand will be looking to consolidate on their 100% start to the season after two wins in two games. A win for the Reds will move them to the top of the premier league table. 
Liverpool centre-back Martin Skrtel returns to action after injury, while Kolo Toure, Aly Cissokho and Joe Allen are major injury doubts.

Manchester United defender Phil Jones is expected to be back in action while Wayne Rooney is a major doubt with head injury after collision with team mate in training yesterday.

Stat of the Game : David Moyes is yet to win a match at Anfield in his 11 years of managerial career in England.

North London Derby
Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspurs

Kick off Time : 4.00pm

Venue : Emirates Stadium

Referee : Michael Oliver

Arsenal welcomes fellow north london rivals Tottenham in this Super Sunday evening kick-off. Arsene Wenger will be anxious to prove a point that he boasts of a squad that can challenge for the title irrespective of the club's inactivity in the transfer market. Meanwhile Tottenham who have been the busiest club in this transfer window having spent over £100 million on new signings will hope to consolidate on their 100% start to the season.
French defender Laurent Koscielny will be pushing for a start after suspension. Mathieu Flamini is likely to start after completing his move back to the Emirates. Lukas Podolski, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mikel Arteta and Abou Diaby are all sidelined.
Aaron Lenon is a doubt with a foot injury, Emmanuel Adebayor and Benoit Assou-Ekoto are unfit for the game. Welsh winger Gareth Bale will also be missing in action.

Stat of the Game : The last five matches between the two clubs at the Emirates stadium have produced 30 goals.
