EPL SCOREBOARD, TABLE & STANDINGS - 1st September 2013

Full Time Scores :

Liverpool 1 - 0 Manchester United

Goalscorer : Daniel Sturridge (4)

David Moyes' win-less streak at Anfield continued this afternoon as the premier league champions slumped to their first defeat of the season in the hands of perennial rivals Liverpool. Daniel Sturridge made it three goals in three premier league matches as his goal separated the sides after a nervy encounter.
Manchester United without Wayne Rooney looked clueless as they laboured in vain for an equaliser which never came.
The victory sends the Reds to the top of the premier league table with 9 points from 3 matches.

Man of the Match : Glenn Johnson. The England right-back made a number of vital blocks and was brilliant at the heart of Liverpool defense

North London Derby
Arsenal 1 - 0  Tottenham Hotspurs

Goalscorer : Olivier Giroud (23)

Arsene Wenger silenced his transfer critics as the Gunners edged out Tottenham at the Emirates. Olivier Giroud's finish mid-way through the first half was enough to consign their north london rivals to their first defeat of the season despite spending over a £100 million on new signings.

In the other game of the day, Swansea City defeated West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns. Goals from Davies and Hernandez gave Michael Laudrup's side their first league win of the season.
West Bromwich Albion 0 - 2 Swansea City
