Full Time Scores

Manchester United 2 - Crystal Palace 0

Goalscorers : Robin van Persie (pen.45+1), Wayne Rooney (81)

Manchester United edged out 10-man Crystal Palace with an uninspiring victory at Old Trafford. With former boss, Sir Alex Ferguson in the stands, the Red devils got back to winning ways after their defeat against Liverpool last month. Robin van Persie converted a penalty after Kagisho Digkacoi was sent off for bringing down Ashley Young in the box at the stroke of half time. Wayne Rooney converted a free kick to secure the three points for David Moyes' men.

Man of the Match : Wayne Rooney put up an amazing display to inspire a lacklustre Manchester United side to victory. His wonderful free kick was enough to kill off the game.
