TRANSFER ZONE - 9th January 2015



  • Manchester United are set to launch a £35 million bid for Borussia Dortmund and Germany World cup winning defender Mats Hummels. The Old Trafford club are also eyeing Aston Villa and Dutch defender Ron Vlaar.

  • Chelsea are waiting to capitalise on Barcelona's chaos to land Lionel Messi. Recent developments have left the Argentine Superstar considering his future at the Nou Camp. French club PSG are also interested in the 27-year old Superstar.

  • Manchester United have announced the signing of former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes on an 18-month deal. The club boss, Louis Van Gaal insists the 32-year old goalkeeper remains a back-up to David de Gea.

  • Arsenal have lined up a £16 million deal for Borussia Dortmund defensive midfielder Ilkay Gundogan after the 24-year old German international was given a contract ultimatum by the German club. 

  • Liverpool target Xherdan Shaqiri has completed a loan move to Italian side Inter Milan. The move is set to be made permanent over the summer.  

  • Arsenal's £5 million bid for Dynamo Zagreb midfielder Marcelo has been rejected. The club boss Arsene Wenger is also weighing up a summer move for Chelsea's goalkeeper Petr Cech.

  • Liverpool have lined up a move for Manchester City midfielder James Milner whose contract expires at the end of the season.

  • New Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is plotting a deal to bring Liverpool and England striker Rickie Lambert to Selhurst Park.

  • Greek Club Olympiakos are interested in a loan move for Liverpool and Italian forward Mario Balotelli.
