- Chelsea are ready to hijack Manchester United record bid for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. Reports suggest that the Old Trafford club have tabled a club record £61 million bid for the France international. Chelsea on the other hand are set to offer a £40 million plus two fringe players for the 21-year old star. In a related development, the Stamford Bridge club have also made a £16 million move for Shaktar Donetsk midfielder Douglas Costa, while talks are still in progress for the signing of Fiorentina winger, Juan Cuadrado valued at £27 million, Boss, Jose Mourinho wants quality replacements for Andre Schurrle and Mohammed Salah who are on the brink of leaving the club.
- Arsenal have completed the signing of Legia Warsaw starlet, Krystian Bielik. The Club have also made a bid to sign Villareal defender Gabriel Paulista. The deal for the Brazilian centre-back is expected to be finalised before the end of the January transfer window. Arsene Wenger have also called for the scrapping of work permits for foreign players as such permit hindered the club from signing Angel Di Maria.
- Manchester United in-form goalkeeper David de Gea has thrown his future with the club into great doubt after the Spaniard refused to rule out a move to Real Madrid. The Old Trafford club is also interested in signing Villareal centre-back and Arsenal target Gabriel Paulista.
- Real Madrid have won the race for the signing of Cruzeiro midfielder and Arsenal target Lucas Silva. The Spanish giants have also completed the £2.3 million signing of Norwegian starlet Martin Odegaard. The 16-year old attacking midfielder has been unveiled at the Santiago Bernabeu.
- Former Chelsea and Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o is in Italy for a medical with Sampdoria ahead of a possible switch from Everton. The Cameroon forward is poised to leave Goodison Park after just five months.
