• Manchester United are ready to complete a double swoop for World Cup stars Marco Rojo of Argentina and Daley Blind of Holland. The club have also revived their interest in £50 million-rated Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria.

• Arsenal have lined up an £8 million move for Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote. Club Manager Arsene Wenger believes that the addition of the tough-tackling Ivorian will strengthen the team's midfield ahead of the new season.

• Mexico National team coach Miguel Herrera has advised Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez to quit the club so as to secure first team football.

• Arsenal have lined up Olympiacos defender Kostas Manolas as a replacement for departed defender Thomas Vermaelen.
