• Arsenal are ready to smash the English transfer record by tabling a £51 million bid for Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez but Liverpool insist they will never sanction a move to the Emirates.

• Manchester United have entered talks with Everton for the signature of Belgium midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

• Manchester United have made it clear that England striker Wayne Rooney will not play for the club again unless the 27 year-old hands in a formal transfer request or totally commit his future to the club.

• Chelsea have rejected an initial £35 million bid from Barcelona for Brazilian defender David Luiz and have warned the Catalan giants not to return with a second bid.

• Italian side Roma are lining up a move for Manchester United winger Nani.

• Tottenham are on the verge of completing the £11 million signing of Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue.

• Fulham have completed the season-long loan signing of Moroccan international  Adel Taarabt from QPR.

• Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem have completed the one-year loan signing of Chelsea youngster Cristian Cuevas.
