Manuel Pellegrini kicked off his premier league career with a classic and resounding victory over Alan Pardew's Newcastle United who were reduced to 10 men after Steven Taylor was sent off for an elbow challenge on Sergio Aguero. Goals from Silva,Aguero, Toure and Nasri completed a rout at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night. Debutants Fernandinho, Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo were also impressive on the night.
Man of the Match : Edin Dzeko was dazzling on the night as he remained a constant threat to the Newcastle United back line.
