• Chelsea are hopeful about completing the double signing of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Everton's Romelu Lukaku before the end of the transfer window. The Stamford Bridge club are expected to make an improved offer for Kalidou Koulibaly and may have to wait until deadline day to complete the signing of Romelu Lukaku. In other news, Chelsea are also considering a move for Brazilian starlet Thiago Maia currently playing at the on-going Olympics. 

• Manchester United are considering a move for Real Madrid defender Raphel Varane. 

• Arsenal have reportedly tabled an improved offer of £35 million for Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez. In a related development, the club have had their £14 million bid for Juventus star Mario Lemina rejected. 

• Manchester City new manager, Pep Guardiola is plotting a move for Portugal goalkeeper Rui Patricio. The Spaniard is keen to axe number one goalkeeper Joe Hart from the first team. 

• Spanish giants, Barcelona are considering a move for Valencia star Paco Alcacer.
